  • Your #protips. Thank you for all your incredible insights and ideas. Here are just a few of the tips you shared.
  • When in doubt, log it out. “Always, log your activity. Daily activity reports are there to back up and create a time stamp of when certain things are happening / coming and going. They can be extremely useful and have helped me help my client more than once. Logging your daily details is essential.” Amethyst W.
  • Stay very vigilant. “Always be safe and try to de-escalate any confrontation. Keep your guard up, maintain your distance for any aggressive situation, stay safe and keep up the good work.” Traynisha S.
  • Take opportunities when they are given to you. Connor T.
  • Cover your radio with your hand when patrolling office areas. “This helps avoid disturbing people who are working and allows you to remain discreet.” Lindee B.
  • In case of rain or inclement weather, keep a spare undershirt and socks stuffed into a spare set of shoes. John W.
  • Reading your post orders will 9 times out of 10 answer any questions you may have. Mary H.
  • Never ignore the little things. “Small details can be the first sign of a bigger problem.” Chantel C.
  • A clear, factual report can protect you, your team, and the company long after your shift ends. Heather S.
  • I always use the acronym G.O.A.L. (Get Out and Look) for my patrols. “It helps me to never miss the Who, What, Where, Why, and How.” Jerry C.
  • Stay proactive. “There are times when the job slows down. Remember, the goal is to be incident-free, but the objective is to be ready.” Earl M.
  • Treat every shift like it matters, because it does. “Consistency, awareness, and professionalism can make the difference between preventing an incident and reacting to one.” J’Lysa H.
